Cue the Final Fantasy Victory Music!!

So I'm so happy to say that I'm done with my English summer assignment! Now all I gotta do is print it and I'll be the happiest person in the world!

Now that I'm finally done with my English homework I gotta pick up the slack and work on my Spanish homework that I've sadly ignored since my Yosemite trip. Luckily it's just verb stuff which thank God that I have an entire book with just verb tenses and what not. So I can easily breeze past that and study up a little bit before school which starts in nine days.

Now today me and my sister were supposed to get our Whooping cough shots, but since it's stupidly expensive to get them at Walgreens, our mom's gonna schedule an appointment for tomorrow at a doctor's. And thank goodness for that since I watched Intervention just last night and saw a lady inject crystal meth in her arm.

I was pretty disgusted when I saw that, cause I was like, "What makes people do this?" This woman was picking skin off her face and it was just plain scary. I'm still amazed people consider doing drugs making them "happy" when in the end, they just look disgusting from all the damage it is doing to their body. It's convinced me enough to never do anything stupid like that.

Anyway, yesterday I saw the movie The King's Speech and I just loved it. It's about King George VI and his struggle with his stammer when he sees speech therapist, Lionel Logue. It's a really great historical film and very enjoyable even when Colin Firth bursts out swearing. I have to say though it's really hard to adjust to Geoffrey Rush when he goes from a pirate with a "scraggly beard" to a formal and clean Australian speech therapist. I really recommend this movie for anyone. And other than swearing, it's not that bad of an R-rated film.

So this Friday, me and my sister have our orientations and schedule pick-ups. Hopefully I'll have the same classes as some of my friends so we can work on homework together. And this year I've been told that there's gonna be a newspaper club and I plan to join that and hopefully no one will go crazy on the freedom of speech thing and get the club shut down.

Back to the Beach

So yesterday me, my mom, my step-dad, my sister, and her boyfriend went out to Capitola for a nice day of relaxing at the beach. On the way we took a little detour to a small Croatian bakery and deli and bought a nice load of Polish sausage and some other Croatian goodies. And just tasting Polish sausage for the first time in over a year is just pure and utter bliss. It's like meat candy whenever my grandparents gave some to me or Marina. Never thought I'd miss it so much.

After the detour, our GPS took us out to God's country for whatever reason and it took an hour longer to get to the beach. I didn't mind so much though I did have a full bladder for quite some time.

We just chilled on the beach. Didn't bring my camera cause I didn't know how much battery I had. Roamed the beach a bit and picked up some shells and rock. I even found granite. See lots of kids make sandcastles out in Capitola. Oh, and I did see a group of girls use a long piece of kelp for a jump rope. Very nice to go to Capitola in the afternoon.

As for today, we went to the mall for a little bit of clothes shopping for school. Didn't get as much as I thought I would, but I did get a tank top from Macy's and a Hetalia T-shirt from Hot Topic that I couldn't live without.

And now my mom's making dinner for our neighbor's coming over later.

Laziness and Homework

Haven't been having too many events happening recently. My days have been consisting working on my summer assignments and watching Soul Eater via Netflix. I got brownie points from my anime guru Travis for finally watching it. Will get a review on Soul Eater as soon as I can.

As for my summer assignments, I'm slowly progressing my way to finishing them. Mostly focusing on my English 10 assignment cause it's ridiculously long...Kinda reminds me that I need to figure out how to get the computer hooked up to the printer so I'll be able to print stuff.

So next week is me and my sister's orientation and schedule pick up for school. On top of which we still need our Whooping Cough shots. Still not looking forward to that. Oh well, as long as it's being done by a professional who knows how to handle a syringe, I'll be fine.

I still find it funny how our first day of school is on a Thursday and then a couple days later we have the weekend off. Least we get some time to get used to a new year. The only sucky part: Last day of school is on June 8th. Why we have ridiculous vacations, I'll never know.

I believe I can flyyyyyyy

Don't ask about the weird title.

So on Thursday, me and my family flew out (in a small airplane that my step-dad can now fly for fun purposes since he got his pilot's license) to Santa Ynez down south from San Jose and got a taxi to a small Dutch like town of Solvang which would've been an almost four hour drive but instead was a one hour flight. We got some lunch and then just went around looking through all the small shops, mostly antique stores which are always fun to look at all the old stuff.

Then later that afternoon we flew north to the Oceano Dunes for a few minutes and we luckily got there in time for the sunset which was just gorgeous. Got a bunch of shells that washed up on shore. Then we flew back to San Jose and got a late dinner at Wendy's which I haven't had in over a year. Their fries are awesome!

So nowadays my mom's friend Carrie from Indiana has come over for a visit and my mom's been hanging out with her. They went to Napa Valley yesterday. We went to the Gilroy Outlets today and I got a couple shirts from Forever 21 and a cup of Starbucks hot chocolate. The entire town of Gilroy smelled of garlic because of their Garlic Festival but when we went last year it wasn't as well as I anticipated other than getting garlic fries. They even had garlic ice cream which wasn't uber great. Anyway, we went out to Chevy's for an early dinner and came home.

Tomorrow's gonna be the first day of August and I have less than three weeks to finish my summer assignments. I've finished reading all the books I'm required to read and have started on the whole typing up and searching for meanings and what not. Really really should get on that. Oh, and me and my sister still need our Whooping Cough shots so we can even go to school which I'm not psyched for at all. Out of my phobias one of them has to be needles for medical and drug use. Always makes me shudder when I see it on TV.

On another small note I finally got access to Netflix for the first time in forever and added a crap ton of anime to it. Cannot wait to get on that.

Liz

A Day of Highlights

So yesterday I went out with my friend Andreas to a popular amusement park in San Jose called Great America. After living here for over a year, I wonder why my family hasn't gone. Oh well.

I hung out with Andreas the whole day. He dragged me on a roller coaster called The Demon which I kinda didn't enjoy too much since I'm not the hugest roller coaster fan ever. Though I was glad he didn't take me on the roller coaster where you stood up the whole time. Rode some normal rides and we rode bumper cars twice and the carousel twice. I got to ride a pig the second time I was on the carousel and me and Andreas pretended to be an arguing couple when we rode together the first time in the bumper cars. Had some pizza for a late lunch and after walking around for a little bit we went home.

Now here are the so called highlights I had in my day.

Highlight #1: Buying a pink octopus with a skull face
Highlight #2: Hearing a guy scream "THANK GOD! CENTRIFUGE IS CLOSED!" at the top of his lungs in his joy that a ride was closed for technical difficulties.
Highlight #3: Roaming all over kingdom come to get out of traffic cause the freeway was closed to an explosion of a truck that killed a guy (Found out on news).

So that was a good day, and I'm glad I went to Great America.

I can't believe how close the new school year is. I'm almost done with my summer assignment for English 10, and I should start memorizing verb tenses for Spanish 3. Though we start school on a Thursday of all days which is a little weird. Oh well. Probably should get to my assignment and finish reading Anthem.

XOXO,
Liz

It's official!

I'm back online thanks to my uncle Chris!

Now that all is kosher, here's what has been going on in my summer since my Yosemite trip.

After Yosemite I wasn't really doing much of anything. Since the computer died all I had to do was read, play video games, watch Scrubs, and take an occasional walk around the neighborhood. And of course Fourth of July. Went out with my family and some friends to see fireworks at a golf course and then went to a block party a couple days later.

Afterwards, my friend Mikayla's sweet sixteen came up, so obviously I went. My sister's present was belly dancing at her party for her which a lot of people got a kick out of. Even her boyfriend, Garrett, dressed up so Marina wouldn't feel like the only one left out cause it was a formal party and everyone else was dressed up in fancy dresses and what not.

The weekend afterwards, my friend Jamie invited me to a Potter Party at her church, and am I gonna pass up an offer to hang out with my friend before school starts? Of course not. It was really fun cause we played a fun version of Quidditch, went out to Taco Hell for lunch (dressed up), and watched all of the first seven movies. Quite literally. I passed out three times during this marathon of Potter madness. By the time we finished the first part of Deathly Hallows it was like seven in the morning. Totally worth it though.

After going to our friend Jenn's 40th birthday party, we went to San Francisco and picked up Uncle Chris. His first meal in Cali consisted of Togo's and Jamba Juice which he loved. Did a ton of sightseeing which included Monterey Aquarium, Japan town (mostly in search in food), two rose gardens in San Jose, and the small beach side village near Santa Cruz called Capitola. I had a great time hanging out with my uncle. He even got me and Marina a Bamboo tablet for drawing and stuff which I'm psyched to finally be able to use. And me, Marina, Garrett, and Chris got to battle each other in Super Smash Bros. Melee which is the most fun thing ever.

I'm kinda sad though cause Chris had to go back to Indiana today and I'm gonna miss him a lot. Oh well, hope to see him again someday soon.

As for the rest of my vacation, it'll mostly likely consist of more block parties, playing video games, reading, and, of course, finishing my summer projects... And I'm now NOT psyched about that. Heheheh...

Liz

Quick update

So I'm kinda sorta back but as of now my uncle's out with my mom looking at some technological stuff that hopefull will fix her laptop and we can use it again. Then I'll be able to share what's been going on during my summer since Yosemite and I probably won't do a blog post about that cause I just lost my patience for it. And yes there will be some pictures too.

But while I'm on here and no one else seems to be waiting for computers I'm gonna update my anime review blog and get something new up there.

For anyone interested in checking out my other blog it's right here: http://otakusloveforever.blogspot.com

Hope to see you again super soon!

Hiatus period... sorta

Omigod it's been so long since I last got on. I'm so so sorry!

For anyone wondering, no my Yosemite trip didn't last for two weeks. It only lasted a weekend but I think I'll do a separate post for later cause I won't have much time on here.

So basically my mom's computer kinda died for the moment. It's trying to fix itself with ye old Windows technology and it's not working at all. My mom took it to BestBuy yesterday but it was gonna cost a decent load of money to fix and get a program to keep it from going crappy for like 200 bucks a year which to be honest we'd end up buying a new computer.

Luckily my uncle who's gonna be coming over in about two weeks is a computer geek extraordinaire and could fix her computer in like five seconds for free. Now sadly cause he can't come over any sooner we're gonna be left without Internet access excluding my mom cause she has a Blackberry.

So again I'm really sorry for the lack of updates and if anyone was expecting pictures of Yosemite but I promise to type up a post of the trip and some photos.

As for my life right now my only Internet access is at the library for an hour each session. Along with that I've also been reading, writing, drawing and playing Super Smash Bros. Melee. So with my session ending in fifteen minutes don't expect a lot of posts from me for a while.

Liz

Lazy Summer Days

So obviously my days have been as uneventful as they could be. Just sitting in the house playing Super Smash Brothers Melee hoping to unlock Mewtwo. And by the way if anyone can help me with that task that doesn't involve leaving the Gamecube on all night (Cause I will get caught and possibly in trouble), leave a comment below for some help. Not that I mind too much being inside cause we got a nice little heatwave right now. It's one of the few things I don't like about summer: extreme heat. Luckily with California weather there's no humidity in the summer cause it's the dry season. So thank God it isn't smoldering hot.

Finished reading Animal Farm today. My work with that book isn't over yet though. I still have to look for seven quotes for my assignment. Won't be too much trouble since someone had the book before me and pencil marked some quotes. Hahahaha. I probably would've used those quotes anyway. It was a pretty good book summing up the Soviet Union.

Going to Yosemite in a few days. Going to store tomorrow to get myself a new camera chip. Gonna be so happy to take tons of pics! Only downside about going to Yosemite is... Well let's just say Mother Nature isn't nice to me sometimes... Yeah

Anyway, so I'll be gone for a few days and be back with possibly tons of pictures to show!

XOXO,
Liz

P.S. Yo momma's so hairy the only language she speaks is Wookie!

So much foooood

So today was my step dad's birthday party. Had a ton of friends over which also included five fluffy dogs. My mom outdid herself again making great lasagna and getting an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins and all sorts of other side dishes. T'was a pretty good time.

So as usual, nothing's going on. At least until this weekend. That's when me and my family go to Yosemite for the weekend. I just remembered I need to get a new camera chip for this trip since the one I have temporarily only holds seventy pictures. I hear it's nice in the summer so a new camera chip's in order.

Started on my summer assignment a few days ago, going to the library and gettingAnimal Farm. I already know what happens since I saw the 1991 film in the seventh grade when we were talking about the Soviet Union, but it's obviously better to read the book. And I also need quotes for what I need to do so it's not like I can just pull stuff out of my butt and expect an A. Still got a couple months so no pressure.

I seriously need stuff to do that doesn't involve me being alone all day playing Super Smash Brothers Melee. That is unless I have some friends over to play with. Probably should do some of the library stuff for the teen summer reading program and meet some people. Well anyway I'll definently think of something.

I am going to lose my mind

Why you may ask? Summer assignments....

So for my sophomore year I signed up for Spanish 3 Honors and Advanced English 10. Both of those have summer assignments. Spanish 3 is no biggie cause I just have to memorize nine different grammatical tenses and their endings... Okay now that I look at it, it sounds like a lot of work. But not as much as Advanced English.

For Advanced English I have to read these three books:

1.Animal Farm by George Orwell
2.1984 by George Orwell
3.Anthem by Ayn Rand

And then I have to write seven log entries for each book, annotate the seven quotes I've chosen for each book, and then for my favorite book of the three I have to find, read, and write a one-page reflection for two current news articles related to the book.

This is me when I found out I have so much work and only two months to do it.

And this is me afterwards.

This isn't going to end well...

Well my first order of action: Get my little brunette butt to the library ASAP.

Adiós amigos!

XOXO,
Liz

BANZAI!

School is finally out for the summer!!

After a long stressful week of final exams, it's worth it when I get to hang out after school signing yearbooks screaming "Banzai!" So glad my first year of high school's finally over.

Kinda sad though that my Japanese exchange friend, Akane, has to leave over the summer back to Japan. She was my first friend and if I didn't meet her I wouldn't have met any of my anime obsessed friends I have now. I'm gonna miss her a lot.

So that was my week. Finals, finals, and more finals, and then of course signing yearbooks and random scraps of paper. That was my last day of school. As eventful as it's gonna get.

Came home after being bored for a while and began watching anime and still going. Mushi-Shi and D. Gray-man all the way.

As for starting up my summer I don't really have too much planned. Gonna go to a friend's house next week for a party aaaand that's about it. Desperately need something to do other than watching anime on Netflix. Sigh.. Will think of something eventually.

XOXO,
Liz

The Closing of Summer Vacation

So it's been a month since me and my sister moved to California. So far our days have been just sitting at home watching Deadly Women and RuPaul's Drag Race on T.V., reading, eating, and stalking people on Facebook. And we'd always do something with our parents on the weekends. Sadly, those days are coming to an end and tomorrow me and my sister start the new school year at our new high school. Marina will be starting her junior year and I'm starting my freshman year. We have new clothes and supplies for the year ready. Now all the madness will begin tomorrow morning. At least here in Cali I won't have to worry about snow days messing up the date for the end of the year. Yeah, I'm gonna miss the snow.

So that's it for this post, so I'm gonna do some Youtube roaming for the rest of the night and go to bed.

Night!

Softball and Salsa Dancing

Okay I gotta remember that my blog is ridiculously bright, colorful, and orange. Anywho...

Yesterday, I went out with Marina and my mom to a softball tournament for charity with a couple friends. I've never been to one and I've seen how intense this game can be (crap, I've lost the game). The last game was a bit sad though cause the winning team won seventeen to I think four. Yeah...That was a fun day though.

And today, me and Marina went out with the same friends that took us to the softball tournament to downtown San Jose for a jazz music festival. It was really fun cause we got to dance until our feet felt like they were gonna fall off. There were two stages: Blues and Salsa. We spent most of our time at the Salsa stage cause our friend, Jenn, had a cousin that was in one of the bands. They were really great and I don't remember a moment that me and my sister weren't dancing. We wandered to the Blues stage but it wasn't really that fun with everyone just sitting in lawn chairs. So we went home after that.

Let's see..I believe other than me reading a lot of James Patterson books recently there really isn't much going on. Think I'll go to bed now before I pass out on the keyboard and type up some random gibberish that doesn't make any sense. G'night!

Six Days and Counting

In about a week, I'll be starting my freshman year in high school. I just went to my freshman orientation today and got my schedule and school picture too. My picture didn't go as great as I thought it would but whatever. None of my school pictures are really great anyway. There really isn't much for me and my sister to buy at the store for school supplies since my step-dad has a nice load of stuff in his office.

My high school is very nice. The hallways and cafeteria are outside and we have brunch. Plus, on Wednesdays we start school at nine instead of eight. I'm not quite sure why but that's something new they're doing. It's only about a fifteen minute walk from my house so we won't be riding crowded buses anymore. No wonder there aren't any behavioral problems at this place; Everyone's flipping happy.

Well, that's all I have to write for now. Gonna go and watch some D.Gray-man. Good night!

XOXO,
Liz

La~

So yesterday, me and my sister went out with some friends a couple streets down from where we live. Went out to the lake on their boat. Me and my sister went tubing and I kinda screamed the entire time cause I'm a bit pathetic like that. Oh, and Marina tried to wake board but unfortunately, she did a bit of a face plant. Then, we stayed at their house, trying to beat their son, Ryan, at Little Big Planet, and making a very delicious blueberry pie. Parents came over for dinner and we all had some awesome pizza and of course the blueberry pie.

Today was the usual sit at home and watch T.V kind of day. Well, until after we ate dinner. Me, Marina, and our mom went out to the mall to do a bit of back to school shopping. And we kinda wandered around the mall looking for more places to shop and just to see what's in the mall. And then we came home listening to 80's music. Yeah, that's pretty much been our Friday. Don't really have much planned this weekend. Gotta remember to ask my mom to go to the library so I can return a couple books. Gonna spend the rest of the night probably watching stuff on Youtube. Night!

August (ALREADY?!)

Where the heck did summer go? Did I just finish school one day and am magically in California starting high school the next? Sheesh..

So happy August (kinda..) everyone! Or as some of my Kingdom Hearts crazed fans of friends like to say: Happy Axel Month! Okay that random stuff is over. Just felt like typing up a new post so that I did.

See you guys when something that's actually eventful happens.

Santa Cruz

Went out to Santa Cruz as the title says. I have no idea how people live there. Almost every other street is filled with parked cars. We had to go in a circle before finding a place to park. Rest of the day was spent walking around the beach boardwalk. Would've gone swimming if the weather channel didn't lie to us saying it would be freezing. Oh well, it's not as if Santa Cruz is on the other end of the state so we can always go back.

Lazy Days

Not much has been going on for the past couple days. Had a dentist's appointment yesterday for a regular checkup and cleaning. I apparently need to wait a few months for my molars to grow in so I can get the stuff you need to prevent any cavities in between the teeth(I have no memory of what it's called). Yes, I'm fourteen and all of my molars aren't fully grown in yet but whatever; as long as I have no need for fillings or braces, I'm good.

Tomorrow, we're going out to invite some neighbors for dinner. Apparently there are people with a son that's gonna be a senior and there are other neighbors with a fifteen year old daughter that's going to be a sophomore and it's her first year here so that's a big plus with the new social life thing. But other than that nothing else too eventful going on. See you next time!

Love and Kisses,
Liz

Errgh

Whoa. Sorry for long time no update. We've been having some Internet difficulties and my computer had some problems that are now fixed...yeah. Everything's fine now though thankfully.

Nothing really has been going on lately. Just been sitting at home and watching T.V and reading Calvin and Hobbes all day. I'd never thought I would be so excited to start high school and meet new people. Now I bet your thinking something like going outside the house and finding if there are people your age nearby but my sister did that a few times and it's not going well. Yeah...

So that's wraps up this post for today since I have nothing else to type about so I will see you guys when something eventful does happen. Bye!

Love and Kisses,
Liz
