Vacation my love! It's been too long!

So finals week is over and thus Christmas Vacation has begun!

All my finals were ridiculously easy which I find quite surprising seeing as how I thought they would be a challenge. Out of boredom and curiosity I looked up the finals that were posted online. English I got an 85% on which kinda surprises me cause I thought I did a bit better. Think I'll go into regular English for next year since this is the only class I get a B on and it's a bit challenging. Anyway, I got a 94% in Algebra 2 which I only think I got some wrong with definitions that I were totally clueless on but I'm glad I aced that final. Spanish was an 86% though I really thought I did better on it. Probably had some difficulty on the listening part... ugh.. Hate stupid CDs I can't understand to save my life. And a 90% in Dance for performing a tap dance with a group to a rap about the play Othello. Weirdest song in the universe.

Good news is this is MUCH better than last year's finals which I got C's on that I wasn't too proud of. Hopefully my Chemistry and World History Finals get good results too.

So now it's vacation. Other than the New Year's trip to Costa Rica and a get together with friends not much else is happening. Drama club's planned a Christmas party tonight and it'll be nice to hang out with friends before going into the jungle for a few days.

I got a package from my dad today with presents for me and my sister. Marina got a book by Terry Pratchett and I got two journals for writing. Y'know it's kinda funny who I'm so passionate at writing but when people ask what I write I instantly get shy about it. I don't know why that is. I've been writing since the eighth grade and only shared my works with few people. I dunno, I just wish I could be more comfortable with telling people about my passion without feeling like an idiot when telling the plot of the story I'm writing.

Well anyway that's that. Think I'll end this post with some quotes that are on the journals I received.

"All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream." ~ Edgar Allan Poe
"Peace is always beautiful." ~ Walt Whitman

Unexpected Weekend

Whoa how long was I gone from Blogger? This new posting stuff looks funny... Well whatever.

Hell week has passed with long days of studying and NEW material being covered BEFORE Finals. Talk about disorganization huh? Luckily I got all my studying stuff and have been going over a little bit before tomorrow. We get half days so for the first time in six months I have to sit still in my classes for two whole hours. Luckily we get a brunch in between and by 12:30 it's lunch and we get to leave. Only have to deal with three days of mayhem and testing and then we're on break for a couple weeks.

For this Christmas vacation, likely chance says we're going to a friend's house again for a Christmas party. And come New Year's the family's going down to Costa Rica and we'll be spending a few days surrounded by jungle. Sadly the status of my step brother, Steven, coming is kinda low seeing as how he's been having trouble with his passport. But hopefully that'll get fixed and he'll be able to come. Nothing like spending a week surrounded by nature. It'll be a photographer's paradise.

So this has been a rather unusual weekend.

For starters my step dad found a kitten chilling at our house and fed it and eventually brought her into the house. He wanted to keep it and named her Butter. Why? I really have no clue. My step dad loves cats ever since we reunited with our cat Chip and he also is allergic. Not quite sure how that works. But now we have a new addition to the family who has given mixed feelings to our other four animals. Maggie wants to be friends but fails to remember that she's 140 pounds compared to a tiny kitten who's a few months old by our educated guess. Stella is ecstatic about a new friend and Butter seems pretty mellow around her. Chip has no clue she exists (poor old man), but Butter hissed at him so she doesn't like him. And as for the used to be baby of the bunch, Kline, is losing his mind. It's actually the first time anyone's heard him make a hiss. Butter appears healthy despite some fleas which we gave medication for and she loves everyone.

And another unexpected event happens to be the death of the North Korean leader Kim Jong Il. How's that for shocking? A reporter apparently claimed that he died from "overwork" after "dedicating his life to the people" AKA a possibly stress-induced heart attack. Nothing like falling out of power via heart attack, eh? So from what I saw South Korea placed an "emergency alert" and now that Kim's dead who knows what'll happen? Let's just keep our fingers crossed that North Korea will be one less power crazed country to worry about.

Well time to get back to reading Homestuck. Best comic ever!

Hot Showers = Greatest invention ever!

Another week down and another week closer to finals. Time to start studying like a maniac along with managing the crazy homework teachers still give us.

Had to take off on Monday since I was still sick and just spent the day watching anime. Next day: Too much work! Well at least I got sick before finals and academic focus week. Bunch of easy work in all my classes.... Well I do have a research paper to do in English which the rough draft is due Monday and I luckily got a head start on it. And I need to memorize a script I made for a speaking final in Spanish and I have to perform a tap dance with a group of people and all other crazy stuff.

Friday was my best day out of every other day this week. I performed my choreography final in Dance first since my mom had to go somewhere today and I did amazing. I danced to a piano version of an opening to one of my favorite animes: Air TV. A lot of people thought I was beautiful and I even almost made people cry, including my teacher. I was so nervous having to be the first one to perform. But I went at it and I did amazing!

Adding on to that, the formal was also last night! I went with my sister and her boyfriend and met up with friends at the dance. The red dress I'm wearing was in fact my mom's dress that SHE wore in high school. Same size and everything! I was so happy I got to wear it. We even have her prom dress but I don't think that'll fit either me or Marina any time soon. My mother was a tiny woman when she was in high school. Anyway, had a lot of fun with my friends dancing and acting like morons (in a good way). And I wish they made formal shoes for these dances that don't kill your feet. Flats hurt so much. Well anyway it was a great night. Other than Adele playing twice in a row. It's not that she can't sing it's just her music is on ALL THE TIME. Nothing like coming home tired of having a good time.

Lemme see... Going to a friend's birthday party today and trying to finish homework... Yep that's gonna be my weekend. And then it's Hell Week AKA Academic Focus week where we spend the time preparing for finals. Ugh... I just wanna be in Costa Rica already...

Day one: Easy

After a nice three day weekend, I had my first two finals. Geometry and English. Waaay too easy. Finished up to an hour and a half early. Now if that could just keep itself from biting back at me and showing a failing grade. Heheheheh.. Love only being in school for four hours and being home by lunch.

Geometry final went smoothly though I wish I could've gone through my English final in peace. I think the phrase "If you talk during an exam, you'll get an F" is foreign to most of the people in my English class. But whatever, they fail it's really their faults. Sorry that your bladder's the size of a penny and you can't hold in your pee for too long. I'm pretty sure everyone's had to hold it in during a long movie cause I know I have. So that was my day. Not much going on except watching Black Butler on Netflix.

Also I've made a new blog for anime reviews. If anyone's interested to get hooked on anime they haven't seen or wants to start watching it check out http://otakusloveforever.blogspot.com/

Whew wee

And the reward for the longest school week of the year goes to Academic Focus week. AKA the massive study week before finals.

Writing your own notes to study is pretty hard but it's worth it when you get a good grade in the end.

We had block schedule on Thursday and Friday because seniors take their finals in those days. Those days either you were watching a movie in your class or working on a study guide. Unless you have P.E then you just ran a mile and played softball. English and Spanish just so happened to be the classes I had a movie in. English: 1968 Romeo and Juliet. Spanish: Real Women have Curves.

I would've enjoyed Romeo and Juliet but a moron in my class kept commenting every time Romeo and Juliet would kiss. I mean really? You're too immature to see two people kiss when you've done that yourself? Just shut up. The teacher got annoyed with him and kicked him out of the classroom. Luckily I was able to find the movie on Netflix and watch it in peace. Almost cried at the end even though I knew that they would both commit suicide.

Real Women have Curves is an HBO movie from the early 2000's about a Mexican-American girl struggling to get into college and all this boring chick flick stuff. I got bored during it and thought it was stereotyping Mexican-American life in LA. I'm pretty sure it was. Go ahead and check it out if you want to bore yourself to sleep.

Art was free drawing since I was finished with a project and I got to take some artwork home. P.E, obvious boring and painful stuff that include running and getting a softball thrown unintentionally at your face. Hope we don't have to run miles for the final on Thursday on account of the people who never do anything and are failing an easy A class. Whatever, it's their faults they're failing.

And biology and geometry consisted of study guides galore. Sucks when you're done making one and you have nothing to do for another hour of class. I was about to lose my mind out of boredom.

Luckily the week's finally over and I get this time to relax.... and hopefully remember to study. Hahaha. I also need a new camera chip since mine kicked the bucket at the most random of times. Oh well.

Wait, is it Monday or Tuesday?

With all the work I've been doing writing study notes I've been tired and it feels like a Monday. Oh well. God bless late start Wednesdays.

So in one week we have finals and then school's out for the summer! Can't believe it's been an entire school year. Feels like yesterday I didn't know anybody and I made a bunch of friends. This has been a great year. Still miss all my Indiana buds and wish I could've packed them in my suitcase with me like ten clowns in a small car and taken them with me. Really hope they can get a chance to come here cause it's just gorgeous.

I've finally gotten into a habit of writing notes to study from and hopefully during Memorial day weekend I'll get some time to study. Have so much to get through and I'm gonna be so happy when it's all over.

Our schedule's weird though. We have block schedule on Thursday and Friday though I can't complain much on those days. We get Monday off for Memorial Day and then we have Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday loaded with finals galore. Plus we get half days so it's awesome.

Tuesday: Sixth and first period with a brunch in between
Wednesday: Second and third period with a brunch in between
Thursday: Fourth and zero period with a brunch in between.... This is where it gets weird cause zero period is ASB and very few kids have it so most people go home during or after brunch.

And Friday's fifth period and yearbook signing with entertainment stuff so people without yearbooks will probably go home.

Doesn't make sense on Thursday and Friday cause we're just in school for two hours if we don't have ASB or a yearbook.

Whatever. It's gonna be a crazy week.

Liz

Whew!

Finally the week's over. Two more weeks of school and I'm out for the summer! This has been a quick year. I still remember the first day not knowing anybody. Now finals are coming up fast. I gotta start studying up.

So as for this week:

English: Finished reading Romeo and Juliet
Spanish: Oral Presentation of Spanish Yearbook
Art: Free draw
P.E: Running....
Biology: Took a test, watched Tarzan, and got a study guide
Geometry: Parallelograms

Yep. I got mad today cause I wanted to retake the test in biology I got a C on but the retakes were cancelled. Why you may ask? Some brain-dead morons decided to make cheat sheets. Ergh! This really ticks me off when people try to cheat! I think it's common knowledge that if you cheat in college you get kicked out and that's why you don't do it! You can't cheat through life cause if you do you'll lose a job and/or a life you really wanted. Good luck trying to do anything else after caught cheating. So thanks to some stupid people I lost my chance to retake a test because the teacher only allows one retake per test and if you don't retake it on a certain day then you won't be able to retake it any other time. I mean, I'm not getting a bad grade or anything. I just get paranoid whenever I get a C or lower on a test.

So that was my day.

So I hear all this stuff of the world ending tomorrow. I only heard about this today on the radio but it's enough to make me say, "Wow do you just have nothing better to do?" It seems that these days people will say anything to get attention and have people believe them. Thanks to this, this guy is asking Christians for their worldly possessions and another guy in New York wasted his life savings on billboards. So this is just sad.

People get with the program. The world's gonna end when the Sun explodes and when we're chilling with Jesus and God. Stop making up random dates when the world will end and live life like a normal person. I get annoyed with how much attention people in this world want and are willing to say or do anything for it.

I remember watching this show with my sister last summer about these three people who believe they're the second coming (second Jesus Christ for those who don't know). This one guy from the Philippines said he was the second coming and asked all these people for 10% of their income. Now he lives in a mansion, probably has six or more motorcycles, and a helicopter. I'm pretty sure not many people in a place like the Philippines have seen or know what a helicopter is. Just goes to show people will do anything for attention.

Sigh. Well that was my brain spill for the day.

Your great-granddaughter had to be a cross dresser!!

Omigod finals are finally over! I'm so fricking happy the worst of it's over...for now anyway.

Finals were SO easy. Almost all of them were multiple choice and I knew most of the answers. It was pretty rare that I had to actually guess on any questions. Only happened once or twice. My Studio Art final wasn't oh so easy cause we actually had to write, do a critic process thing, and stuff like that. That one took me the most time out of everything else cause I had to think. Yes the horrors of thinking. So horrid. My P.E final was a pain too. You had to run a mile (four laps around the school's track) and play volleyball. The mile part was the worst of my problems but I got it done. So other than Art and P.E everything else was super easy. I got done with my finals and hour before we were supposed to get done. I didn't even study, that's the funny part. I told that to a guy in my biology class and he didn't believe me. He kept thinking I was lying. I just don't study for this stuff because I know a lot of the material and I remember it. So I'm pretty confident that I did well on my finals.

So now that finals are over, it's now Christmas Vacation! I think Kline's ready for his first Christmas. He's already broken an ornament. Not really planning to do much this vacation. My parents had planned a vacation for Lake Tahoe but they never got around to it and A LOT of people have to go there over Christmas vacation. So we're just hanging at home for the holidays.

I saw something really interesting on T.V yesterday. It was this show called Strange Addiction. It obviously shows four people who have some weird addictions. Like eating chalk. Yeah, they showed that one. There was this one girl on there who had a tanning addiction. She said she was doing it because when she was a teen she was told she was ugly. And she is almost orange and has bleach blonde hair. She even said, and I quote, "I don't care if I die, as long as I look hot." Okay, if looking hot means tanning yourself until you look like an Oompa-Loompa, dying your hair and almost white blonde, and as a plus adding mascara and eye liner until you look like a hooker from Las Vegas is considered "hot", then I don't wanna look "hot". You don't need to do much to be pretty. I mean isn't it what's inside that counts? I guess natural beauty's dead today. It's hidden behind mass make-up, hair-dye, and plastic surgery.

So I guess this has been a more serious blog post with the last paragraph. Hahaha. Just thought I'd change it up a bit.

Liz
