Holmes!

Okay so for sure for sure this will be my last post before Costa Rica. Hahaha!

So today with nothing else to really do I went out with my friend Jamie and her dad to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie and go out to FroYo afterwards. And let me just say that it is amazing!! I haven't seen the first one due to complications involving crappy DVDs from Netflix, but the second is just... too amazing for words. Full of action, drama, and comedy rolled into a great two hour film. And let me just say that Robert just looks hilarious in drag. Nuff said.

The previews were quite interesting which included previews of Joyful Noise and Rock of Ages. Both of which I really want to see now cause they look hilarious and funny. Rock of Ages is really interesting cause of the plot line you can pick up straight from the previews. That and Tom Cruise has beautiful long hair in the film being a rock star. Hahaha!

My only real complaint about the whole thing was the morons who don't have any common decency to shut off their phones. I mean is it that hard to do so? It shouldn't! But no. Out of the corner of my eye I saw one girl a couple rows in front pull out her iPhone for a moment and then put it away. The BIG problem was this one person who DIDN'T silence their phone and everyone heard their stupid annoying ringtone. TWICE. Seriously?! If you're not gonna have any decency to silence or shut off your phone then why did you waste your money to come to a movie theater?? If you do intend on using your phone, silence it, turn the light down low, and sit in the back where no one has to see you and get annoyed. I know I like to use my phone being a teenager with friends who live on the East coast, but at least I have the common sense to put it away when I'm in a theater because it's basic common knowledge to shut it off because it's rude! Ugh, well done people. Just great job for being totally rude.

Whew glad I got that fish rage out of me.

So for sure this will be the last post I'll have before going to Costa Rica. Till the new year, Addio!

Vampire Fish People

Doctor Who just gets more interesting with every new alien.

Friday, as the pictures show, was the homecoming parade. Obviously Anime and Manga club and GSA was in it so it was fun. I still laugh a little seeing the Proud 2 "bee" LGBT poster we made. C'mon you gotta admit it's cute, right? It would've been better if I wasn't getting hot and I didn't become exhausted afterwards. Wasn't my day when I didn't feel like doing anything in Algebra 2 or Spanish 3.

Best part was that a little later I finally got to see Steven when we picked him up from the airport! I'm so happy to finally see him. Stayed up with him last night watching part of the fifth season of Dexter which was awesome! I've never fully payed attention to the other seasons but I know enough from Wikipedia and I remember some parts of the last season. After that I was somehow pulled into adding horror movies he wanted to watch so he told me to add, of all things, The Human Centipede.

For anyone wondering what it is, don't even think about it. It is one of the most disturbing movies in the universe and I curse myself for looking up trailers to that when someone told me to. Ugh.. Just makes me shudder thinking about it.

I only stayed up to see the first thirty minutes which really began like a stereotypical horror film: Go out to see friends, get a flat tire, don't know how to change or fix it or you don't have the necessary tools, in the middle of nowhere (depending when it's taking place: no cell reception), go out to look for help, end up in a creepy person's home, story goes off on its own from there.

After that I passed out and went to bed before it got really messed up. So here's some morals for horror films:

1. Know how to fix a tire or how to change one
2. If you try to get help in a foreign country, know some basic phrases so you actually get help.
3. If you do seek for help nearby, do not go into a person's house to use their phone unless they look perfectly sane.

And that's all I have to say on that subject.

So now I'm back to my normal school week tomorrow. I seriously need to get some fabric selected for my Mad Hatter costume. God bless my mother have giant plastic tubs of assorted fabric.

Whew wee

And the reward for the longest school week of the year goes to Academic Focus week. AKA the massive study week before finals.

Writing your own notes to study is pretty hard but it's worth it when you get a good grade in the end.

We had block schedule on Thursday and Friday because seniors take their finals in those days. Those days either you were watching a movie in your class or working on a study guide. Unless you have P.E then you just ran a mile and played softball. English and Spanish just so happened to be the classes I had a movie in. English: 1968 Romeo and Juliet. Spanish: Real Women have Curves.

I would've enjoyed Romeo and Juliet but a moron in my class kept commenting every time Romeo and Juliet would kiss. I mean really? You're too immature to see two people kiss when you've done that yourself? Just shut up. The teacher got annoyed with him and kicked him out of the classroom. Luckily I was able to find the movie on Netflix and watch it in peace. Almost cried at the end even though I knew that they would both commit suicide.

Real Women have Curves is an HBO movie from the early 2000's about a Mexican-American girl struggling to get into college and all this boring chick flick stuff. I got bored during it and thought it was stereotyping Mexican-American life in LA. I'm pretty sure it was. Go ahead and check it out if you want to bore yourself to sleep.

Art was free drawing since I was finished with a project and I got to take some artwork home. P.E, obvious boring and painful stuff that include running and getting a softball thrown unintentionally at your face. Hope we don't have to run miles for the final on Thursday on account of the people who never do anything and are failing an easy A class. Whatever, it's their faults they're failing.

And biology and geometry consisted of study guides galore. Sucks when you're done making one and you have nothing to do for another hour of class. I was about to lose my mind out of boredom.

Luckily the week's finally over and I get this time to relax.... and hopefully remember to study. Hahaha. I also need a new camera chip since mine kicked the bucket at the most random of times. Oh well.

And now for something completely different

Nice little weekend of nothing. I'm just dying for Spring Break to come already. Most people I know have had theirs and/or starting theirs. My school's weird and Spring Break is combined with Easter weekend. So we don't have another vacation until the end of April. It kinda sucks.

So we recently lost a great actress of the Golden Age. Elizabeth Taylor. I only saw one film of hers Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. It was a little weird cause I wasn't paying any attention and the movie was confusing in the first place. I added a few of her movies to our Netflix. We're watching Cleopatra. I really wonder how people back then were able to sit through a four hour movie. Was there like an intermission every hour so people could pee? Really amazes you when you see how they used actual sets and actual thousands of people instead of the green/blue screens and the CGI used now in films like Avatar. That's how movies were done back then.

Back to school tomorrow once again. Back in the same old rut I'm usually stuck in.

Another weekend gone

So the rest of my school week was like normal. Homework, running, and thinking. Yep. Just the basics. Nothing uber special. Well on Friday my Spanish class watched the videos we made for our oral presentation. Me and my group's video was pretty good though no one really paid any attention to it other than the Cantina Band blasting during the menu and credits of the DVD.

Weekend went by like normal. Yesterday we went out to Uncle Billy and Aunt Ashley's for dinner and a game of Taboo! I'm not really great trying to make people guess what the word is but am okay with guessing. My mind works in strange ways. Hahahaha. As for today we just stayed home and Marina brought over her new friend Meghan for dinner. We had ribs and they were delicious. Did some writing while my parents watched Unstoppable. Only came down when during the last five minutes of the movie. And now they're watching The Town and already I'm scared out of my mind. They also got The Social Network too.

Let's go 2011!!

Happy New Year's everyone!

I went with Jamie to see Voyage of the Dawn Treader today. Pretty awesome movie. Sadly I still haven't seen Prince Caspian. So now I hope to record it on DirecTV or go to Blockbuster.

So 2010's drawing to a close. This has been a roller-coaster of a year. Finishing 8th grade, moving across the country, starting high school, making new friends, the whole she-bang. Bit of an emotional roller-coaster I should add. At least the world isn't falling to total ruins and it feels like 2012's gonna happen. Hahahaha.

So I think I should come up with a list of resolutions for 2011.

1. Catch up with Maximum Ride books before Valentine's Day.
2. Finish writing and uploading stories and share with friends.
3. Go to Fanime
4. Raise money for a laptop
5. Become cosplayer extraordinaire

Okay, not exactly the biggest resolution list but it's what I got. Gonna go to a party in less than 2 hours. Have a great new year everyone!

You'll Shoot Your Eye Out Kid.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy whatever it is you celebrate in the month of December.

Most of my Christmas was celebrated yesterday. I got a pair of socks and a journal. Marina got socks as well along with a gun. A gun for baking that is. You can put cookie dough in this tube and make cookies with it. Or you can use it for icing to decorate cakes. It was pretty funny. My mom also gave us some money so we can go out shopping. We usually do stuff like that in the recent years. We just get some money for shopping so we can get what we want and we don't have to stand in the return line. It's not fun to be stuck in one of those after Christmas.

We also went to a Christmas party yesterday. Saw a lot of friends, old and new. God, such yummy turkey and ham. We did some dancing and I played with the kids. Gah, they're all so cute! Had a really awesome time. Passed out a little after midnight when we got home.

Not doing much today. Watching 24 hours of A Christmas Story on TBS. Gonna go to the movies later. Yes it is one of the few places open on Christmas Day. Going to see Little Fockers. And that's pretty much my Christmas. Happy Holidays everyone!
