Go 49ers!!

So nothing much is going on now that I'm back in America. I just gotten over a small cold I had due to shifting from summer weather, to the super cold, to the moderate weather of California and thank God since I've been feeling like crap. Already my teachers are tossing work at us like mad people which is pure insanity since I'm trying to avoid having to take home twenty pound textbooks on my back. Luckily we have our three day weekend for MLKJ Day and I can relax again. Maybe I'll actually catch up on some writing and finish reading The Help.

American football's become the current craze of my household as we do plan to host another Super Bowl party and our team, the San Francisco 49ers, just beat the Saints today! So if they get into the Super Bowl at the next game, my house will have everyone and their mother for the Super Bowl (figuratively speaking of course). So keeping our fingers crossed.

Last night while I was checking my e-mail, my eyes caught an article about a 9-year-old girl that died from Huntington's disease and was cyber-bullied by a neighbor. An adult for that matter. This extremely ticked me off. Apparently this neighbor named Jennifer Petkov was posting pictures of the girl, Kathleen, with her head with crossbones and pictures of Kathleen's mother, Laura who died three years ago of Huntington's disease, next to the Grim Reaper. On top of which, her truck had a coffin attached to it when she drove around the neighborhood.

I don't what this lady's problem is honestly, but just why? Why would you purposely bully an innocent girl who has a serious problem? Are you just stupid or completely heartless or both? For those who have no clue what Huntington's disease is, here's the best definition I can give in layman's terms:

What it does is that nerve cells in the brain waste away, ruining the ability to do... well everything. Swallowing, moving your eyes, learning, writing, and it just simply makes you slow in doing anything plus it cause the muscles to jerk and contract. It leads to dementia, depression, OCD, and bipolar disorder. Usually it begins in the 30s and 40s but because of genetics, people can get it in their 20s and younger too. The more people in a family that have Huntington's disease, the higher chance of developing symptoms at a younger age. With children like Kathleen, they can get seizures and have problems with motor skills and behavior. Eventually it gets worse over time and a person with this disease loses the ability to walk, talk and to take care of themselves. People can take medication for the symptoms but there's no actual cure for it.

So it's sad that a little girl had such a terrible illness and all her friends, family and neighbors knew that she would eventually die. And it's frustrating that someone would be so cruel as to bully a sweet girl who has a serious issue. To be honest, I don't care what Jennifer Petkov's stupid excuse is. You never ever say or do crap like that about anyone; much less someone with Huntington's disease. I hope she's proud of the hate pages on Facebook and negative comments she's gotten.

Yet another rant released from my brain.

Liz

*sigh* School, school, and more school

With finals coming up these days at school are getting a little busier. I probably should get into some study habits since I somewhat didn't do so hot on a couple of my final exams. I did get a passing grade for the semester so it wasn't that bad.

So here's a little mini record of this week.

English: Reading Romeo and Juliet
Spanish: Spanish speaking country poster (almost done)
Art: Color collage painting (done)
P.E: Official nap class since teacher went home to take care of his wife and newborn baby and sub does nothing
Biology: Bacteria and viruses galore!
Geometry: Volume!

So since I'm gonna have nothing to do in second and third period, I plan to start carrying my sketchbook with me and draw a little. Then I'll probably post a few pictures on here.

Bright sides:

Late start tomorrow
Anticipation of this Saturday's birthday party
And being able to release all my crazed energy in anime club

So it's all gonna be good.

XOXO,
Liz

Nyanyanyanyanyanyanyanyanya

Go to nyan.cat and watch.

Quick first week back at school. My English class is reading Romeo and Juliet, I'm doing a speaking final and starting a poster project in Spanish, painting a collage in Art, doing nothing in P.E, working with bacteria in Biology, and working with surface area and volume in Geometry. Very, very hectic first week back.

Bright side is that it's Friday and that means weekend time to relax. My family's going to a friend's house later tonight for a (belated) Cinco de Mayo party. It's a bit crazy how a lot of people in California make a big deal about it compared to Indiana who's like, "Whatever". Heh..

I think this weekend I'll be doing what I normally do: draw, write, text friends, and watch T.V. Oh, and add on thinking of ideas for summer. My friend, Jamie, will be gone all summer doing job stuff and going to her sister's wedding so I'll be left here with everyone else and I'm still thinking of ideas and stuff cause other than going to Yosemite and my uncle coming over I'm doing nothing else. Sigh.. Oh well. Still got a few weeks. And I have another week till my birthday party which will be the most insane birthday party ever. Hahahaha.

XOXO,
Liz

(Insert Explosion Here)

Weather's been awesome all week. It's supposed to be in the eighties tomorrow and that means I get a reason to wear a dress!!! Hahaha. Really excited. Once again more of the same old school work and pains in my side from running in P.E.

Been starting on a draft for a persuasive essay against a school uniform policy. I'm pretty sure I did something like this in the eighth grade but whatever. I like writing. Haven't done any recently because I've been so wrapped up in reading.

I recently finished the book FANG. It's part of the Maximum Ride series. I was about to cry at the end. So now I'm super desperate to get the next book, ANGEL. It came out on Valentine's Day so it's been out for a while. Even long enough to be in every library in the county. Here's my problem: 85 holds. Only 46 copies of the book. Check out time is three weeks. I was about to die when I saw that. So I have to resort to going to Barnes & Noble to get a copy, like, now. It's a bit of a way of life for me.
